Vanessa Reynolds's wilderness Botanical painting demonstration

Vanessa Reynolds is a local artist who, along with others, operates The Crafty Coo, a shop in Sandgate, Ayr, where she sells attractive art and crafts and operates various workshops.

 

On Wednesday, 1st October, she gave a presentation to the Ayr Art Circle showing how she creates botanical contact prints by crushing flora and fauna in a hot bath, such that the material leaves an impression on paper. This paper, when dry, presents a host of artistic opportunities to paint images onto the paper.

She brought along examples and paper for the members to prepare their own cards. A thoroughly engaging evening.
